Do you want Lies with that?
I just saw Fast Food Nation in my Business Ethics class.... and i have to say, that I'm still really disturbed by what i saw. Of course, there were parts that were over-exaggerated but for the most part, i know (well, I've always known but I've been in denial like most people in North America) that the way the portray the meat packaging business is pretty accurate. and i don't know what to think/how to act because I'm really disturbed by it.
I'm probably going to go to Chapters to buy the book tomorrow. They say that once in a lifetime there a moment that shifts your entire life's philosophy or way you lead you life. Well, for me, that moment has come, i think. I don't think I've ever going to see meat and our society deal with food business and how we don't know what exactly goes in your mouths anymore, sadly. I'm not going to become a Vegan but i don't think I'm ever going to step inside a fast food chain ever again or go to a commercial grocery store ever again, I'm currently weighting my options with green grocers/farmers. Of course, it's going to cost me more but at least I'll know how what happens to my food before i eat it. I think it's important step that everybody needs to take.
For those of you who haven't seen it, i strongly urge to go see it. It's a really eye-opening experience. At least, it is for me. I need to calm down now because i have to do my Oncology assignment but I'm far too disturbed to even concentrate. You may find this silly, but i feel my entire life has changed. I'm really annoyed with my school/program but I'm glad I'm taking this Ethics class.
